Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse and search our advert listings without registering. If you decide that you would like to become an advertiser with The Wedding Directory then you must either register via our sales office or sign up directly via the Home page "Join Us" button top right, you can then choose an advertising listing option which best suits you!
Creating and Managing Ads
Q: I have created an advert, but it does not show up in search results or advert listings. Why?
A: The first time you advertise with us the advert you have created will need to be approved by our admin department, if you have set up a listing over a weekend, Bank holiday, Christmas, Easter etc. then there might be a short delay with your advert being made live, once approved your advert will be set to the full period purchased.
Q: How do I stop my advert from running?
A: Should you at any time need to stop your advert displaying in the website listings simply login and navigate to the your Account page and click on the Stop link.
Q: What category should I put my advert in?
A: If your advert is a 'Wedding Venue' then it is appropriate that you place it in one of the UK counties. You may also select as many venue categories as you wish to further promote your venue. Examples of these are: Castles, Hotels, Stately Homes, Historic etc. Alternatively, you may be advertising a service or a product. In which case, it is appropriate to place it in one of the 'Wedding Suppliers' categories and your chosen Region. If you cannot find a category that is relevant to your product or service then we recommend that you choose a category that is closest to your requirements. Please Note: We are always happy to receive requests for a category option that we may not currently offer but cannot guarantee it will always be possible, please call us on 01296 399123 with your request.
Q: Will my advert be visible in other regions?
A: Your advert will only appear in the regions you have selected.
Q: I don't want my address to appear on my advert ?
A: We understand that many people work from home so you can keep some of your personal information private by not completing the respective address fields when setting up your advert listing.
Q: If my address is not shown how will people contact me?
A: People browsing the system wishing to enquire about your services can do so via the standard email contact button or by contacting the telephone number you display in your advert.
Q: Why can't I display my email address on my advert?
A: We have purposely made it so that customers send an email enquiry through a contact form on the website to avoid spam.
Q: My images will not upload
A: Images uploaded to the site are resized automatically, the maximum size for each individual image upload is 4MB. We recommend sizing images to 500 x 500 pixels for the very best results.
Q: I want to purchase a listing but I am unhappy using my credit card details online.
A: Please call our sales department on 01296 399123 and they can assist you.
Q: How can I upgrade ?
A: Should you wish to enquire regarding a different listing package or becoming featured please contact us on 01296 399123
